Tenants get into the festive spirit!
Festive joy and cheer made its way to Phoenix Court when Castle Vale residents gathered to enjoy a tasty, hot-cooked Christmas dinner and mince pies with custard to follow!
Organised by Dominie McQueen, Health and Wellbeing Project Coordinator for Compass Support and Shaun Brown, Scheme Coordinator for Castle Vale Community Housing, the was supported by volunteers from the Prince’s Trust Team.
After tucking into their tasty food, residents enjoyed games and entertainment with pool, dominoes and board games keeping everyone on the spirit of things.
Resident, Steve Brindley, who regularly volunteers with Compass Support, was one of those taking part.
“It was a great opportunity for the residents at Phoenix Court to mix with people from different parts of Castle Vale,” he said.
“I have a lot of friends living in Phoenix Court, so I got the chance to see people who I haven’t seen in ages and re-engage with them.
“Dom and Shaun did really well with the catering, it was a lovely start to Christmas.”
The event followed on from the ‘Brew Up at Phoenix’ sessions led by Compass Support, which take place at the site every Monday from 1:30-3:30pm. Residents are invited to enjoy arts and crafts activities, alongside a hot drink and chat.
